Lol weird, I figured Benning didn't offer him because of his knee issue or a 2 way for leivo to reject it.

I thought it would be in his best interest to play alongside horvat in the top 6 role, to cash in later than playing depth role for the flames.

Like it or not Virtanen is pretty much guaranteed a top six spot now.

Yeah I don't see virtanen succeeding in a matchup role alongside horvat and Pearson. If he's succeeding in the top 6, it's with Petey. However that would make boeser much less effective playing alongside horvat.

Oh well, perhaps horvats line doesn't have to fight as hard with Schmidt or Hughes passing the puck to them
