Shame we couldn't get over the line after a belter of a first half of a season, but still lots to be happy with. If you'd have offered 5th at the start of the season then there wouldn't be a single leicester fan that wouldn't bite your hand off. And Vardy grabbing a golden boot is a nice bit of icing.

Onto the next season :D

I've felt disappointed. And im not a Leicester supporter. Thing is Man Utd is not good enough for Champions League. Have you seen them playing ? Attrocious.

On the other hand, neither is Leicester to be honest.

One of the worst seasons of Premier League in the past 20 years imo.

#5 can be seen as an achievement, but considering how shit 2 of the top 4 have been - and your impressive start - it isn't.

So, there has been a LOT of drama in Belgian football the past few months. I'm going to try and explain it here.

The season was put on hold on matchday 29 because of COVID-19. Normally there would have been 30 matches and then Play Offs (top 6 points get halved and they play vs eachother twice, while the rest play vs eachother and teams from the second division except for the last team, they get relegated).
The team that was last placed on matchday 29 was Waasland-Beveren with a 2 point gap with KVO.

So, COVID happened and the league got cancelled, Club Brugge was announced the winner and Waasland-Beveren was going to be the club to get relegated. Waasland-Beveren obviously didn't agree to this and sued the Pro League and demanded not to get relegated.
Meanwhile in the second division, OHL and Beerschot were to play two matches in order to decide who gets promoted. One of the two matches was already played, a 1-0 win for Beerschot.
Both OHL and Beerschot were told to play the second match this weekend, something they both didn't agree to since a lot of their players contracts ran out and they couldn't buy new players.

Flashforward to today, where the court has given Waasland-Beveren 'justice' and has said they CAN NOT get relegated or the Pro League would have to pay a huge fine (2.5m, pretty big in Belgium)
So now the Pro League has decided to instead of 16 teams, have 18 teams for two seasons, play offs with 4 teams only and after the two seasons there will be 3 teams going down, and only one up (no team will get promoted in the coming two seasons).

So that means Waasland-Beveren stays and both OHL and Beerschot get promoted. Not sure if they will still have to play the promotion match now.

tl;dr, Pro League made wrong decision, got called out for it and now we play with 18 teams like normal competitions and OHL got promoted!

edit: apperantly each season two teams get promoted and relegated instead of none, in the third season 3 teams get relegated and only one goes up.

Another thing;

In the second division (1B) there will now be 8 teams, 6 of them were in the league last season but the 7th one is Lierse-kempezonen who finished 13th!!! in the league below. They are the ONLY club that had the correct license in order to play in the division. The 8th team will be the youth team of Club Brugge, seeing as no other teams could get a license.

Belgian football is madness and a big circus. :lol:
