0-1 defeat for Mallorca against Getafe.

Things aren't looking good tbh. Getafe is a strong team, but considering our away form we can't afford to drop points at home and Getafe were tired after their game in Amsterdam on Thursday. A draw was the least we could settle with.

But it's the same story from most games... the team tries, but the players are not top flight material. We struggle to create chances, we miss most of the ones that we create, and we're guaranteed to make 1-2 defensive mistakes that a focused opponent will often take advantage of. Today, the players could do nothing against a very well structured Getafe.

The next game, away against Eibar, is one we can't afford to lose. Even a draw could leave us at more than a game's distance from the safety zone, and that would put some really undesirable pressure on the team.

We're also struggling with injuries. One of our two signings this winter, a Greek LB from Olympiakos, tore his ACL in his second game. And our main striker missed today's game because of a knock he suffered in the previous game.

Mourinho at Spurs is already turning out quite badly.

Actually feel a bit bad for him now. He's gone from managing a criminally poor utd squad (but at least still grabbing the odd trophy) to taking over spurs and losing the only 2 players in the entire squad (3 if you count eriksen) who get into other top 6 sides.

Barely premier league level without Kane and son imo.

Would say Alderweireld is their current best player that is fit, but yes indeed.
That being said, their transfers aren't working out at all either. Lo Celso has yet to perform, Ndombele is injury prone and Bergwijn is still adapting.

Eibar 1 -2 Mallorca

Fucking finally, the first away win of the season. Excluding two Copa games against a 5th and 4th division teams, we hadn't won away since April 2019, when we were in Segunda :D

Hope the curse is finally broken, and we can win some more points away from home. We will need them if we want to avoid the drop.

Over all, a deserved win... the team defended really well, and it was unlucky that a goal was conceded at the end, which led to unnecessary suffering. Huge result against a direct rival in the battle against relegation.

gone are the days of the young, slick, witty well-dressed Mourinho who had no fear and was the masterclass in big games (Porto, Chelski first time, Inter era)

Madrid spell really ruined him, losing the dressing room meant he could no longer motivate the players to run through walls for him. even then, he was still good enough to nick a few trophies after that for a few years, but now he looks miserable and loathing of existence itself
