Mallorca will be facing a tough home game against la Real today. They have a pretty solid team this year, which should allow them to battle for a spot in European competitions. I have some doubts on their defensive line, as well as their manager, but overall their team should be a candidate to enter EL.
I hope we can continue our trend of being solid at home and we can win the game, but it's obviously going to be significantly more difficult than against Eibar, at least on paper. Meanwhile we've made two new signings this week: french winger Yannis Salibur and the promising japanese CAM Kubo on loan from Real Madrid. It's unlikely that either them will start, o perhaps even play, due to the players barely having trained with the team so far. Two more signings are expected to come next week (a LB and probably a striker) and the coaching staff insists they want players with experience in Primera, but this is what we've got for now.
Mallorca 0 - 1 Real Sociedad
And there's the difference between Segunda and Primera. We had a solid first half, but in the second one, as soon as la Real began playing seriously, we struggled massively despite our players' constant efforts. Overall we were lucky to only lose by one goal... it's not like la Real had a ton of chances, but their feeling of superiority was crushing.
