I think it opens in December in WA. I've been craving dungies for a long time.

I had some back in June in Westport, but I miss them & Brady's oysters so much.

so i haven't been fishing in a long time, and all of my gear has always been cheepie stuff.

i'm going to go to my local shop and talk to them, but i'm looking for 2 complete set ups.

baitcasting and spinning

baitcasting
based on what i've seen/read i think i want to be in the $100-$150 range on a reel and $80-$120 on the rod.

for reel
i've been looking at the abu garcia revo sx
for rod
i'm still not sure but i'm looking for a do it all style thing, i don't want to carry 7 rods or spend the money

spinning
still haven't done a lot of reading on what is out there, but from what i have read there are a bunch of good spinning reels for $40-$70 bucks
willing to hear some suggestions
for rod i'm not sure what i'm looking for, but somewhere in maybe the $80-$120 dollar range.
i'm in the same situation as with the bait caster, i want it to be able to do everything or as close to it as possible

thanks for the help.

for spin reels: Shimano all day. I have both the Sedona and the Symmetre, both excellent reels, Symmtre is a little more compact & smoother (Sedona is about $60, Symmetre about $90). My Sedona is like 5 years old still feels like new only maintenance I do is just oil the bail/line roller occasionally really (& and keep it dirt free).

So I ended up walking into my local tackle/bait shop this afternoon and after talking to them for almost 2 hours I walked out with 2 new setups.

For rods I ended up with a Dobyns FURY FR 734C for the bait caster and a Dobyns FURY FR 702SF for the spinning.

For reels I ended up with a Shimano SLX151HG for the bait caster and a Daiwa REVLT2500-XH for spinning.

They both feel very comfortable in my hand and now I just need the rain to calm down a little bit here in the south bay area in california to hit the water.

i've had real bad luck with Daiwa reels, always have broken their bail springs within just months of use. granted these weren't high end Daiwa reels but still. GL
