The only team that wants a volatile QB is a bad team, because then they have the chance to upset a good team if he's hot. A team like the Bears is a stable team, because defense tends to have reliable results. The bears need a solid, boring offense that can put up 17-27 points a game, every game, and not make massive mistakes. That's not Winston.
If you are always playing from behind because of a shitty defense and can’t run the ball you are forced to try and make plays you wouldn’t need to otherwise. It was very evident most games they abandoned the run game early as fuck and Winston needed to go into obvious passing situations that led to more picks. He also put up huge numbers with Evans and Godwin near the end and is young and stable, physically. He ought to get at least one more shot as a starter before being relegated to being a career backup.
I feel like the Bears make the playoffs if they had Winston over Trubisky last season.
