he isn't elite anymore and he can't play DE. He could probably play 3-4 DE but thats not his game he is a one gap fast twitch guy. 3-4 de's play 2 gap usually. He needs to be in a one gap scheme preferably 4-3. He is getting paid 13 mil and he had 6 sacks.. obviously those aren't the end all be all but he isn't very good in the run game either because he usually gets washed out because he is 1 gapping. He can't play 4-3 DE because he isn't fast enough and doesn't have the bend.
He could still be here who knows how the new coaching staff views the roster but 13 mil is a lot for mediocre play. They are most likely making a lot of cuts because they need $$ to sign guys and don't have enough to do that and I am sure they are going to bring in some of their guys from previous teams.
I am excited to see what happens with the defense because its going to be aggressive which is something they have lacked for a long time.
