I dont lift much from mid April through Oct due to hunting and fishing season but I got back in the gym and pulled a real slow off the floor 615.

I am just going to go back to squatting 3x a week. My deadlift honestly returns to normal if I squat in high frequency. I think its just because I become more mobile if anything.

Bench remains poverty. Visiting family in NS and the gym there has a trap bar. I honestly dont even know the point of it except to pull numbers I cant pull doing a normal conventional deadlift. I feel like I am doing nothing except locking out my hips. The RoM feels so short and pointless.

Weighed in though. Lost 10-15 pounds during fishing and hunting season. Probably muscle in my legs. Sitting at 200, would rather go back to 210.

Pretty good considering the distance. I doubt I could keep that pace right now

You running on days off or after lifting?

I cant seem to bring myself to go to the gym days im not lifting and I cant run outside because its covered in snow and very cold.

Sunny year round here so i dont have that excuse

Im making cardio a priority atm. Only lifting 2 x week. 'Athletic' movements - power cleans, pylo stuff, jumping, prowler sprints, even kettle bell stuff and swimming (Hello i am Jimmy now)

Playing rugby all my life and learnt the long way that 5 years bodybuilding style then 5 years powerlifting style were not the best training choices for my sport after all


Its fun and interesting because i have no idea how to structure this kind of training at all. A typical week looks something like this (off season in rugby)


Monday) Rest
Tuesday) Plyo movements, kettlebell stuff + short run (20 mins)
Wednesday) Sprints, skills, HIIT cardio
Thursday) Power cleans / prowler /
Friday) Rest
Saturday) 'Long' run (want to aim for 40 mins)
Sunday) Swimming (aka spearfishing)

Solid

I started running during lockdown. Hated every minute of it

Furthest I got was 4km at about 6min pace

Now Gyms are open again so fuck running
