Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli reports that the Flyers are “hoping” that Couturier’s back will heal in six to eight weeks. He also adds that if Couturier’s back doesn’t heal in that timeframe, surgery would be required, which would leave Couturier out for what Seravalli called a “significant period of time.”

One can hope

k yeah the teams going to blow without couts thats a huge loss again
why does i feel like flyers players get hurt come back and immediately get reinjured
like who the fuck does their medical procedures change it up they clearly suck at their job its been like this for like 3+ seasons now for like 10 players

Chris Therien@ctherien6
I had herniated my L4-5 discs in training camp in 2001 and it's still hurting to this day. Back injuries are the worst and you can't understand them until you have one that is unbearable

Feel bad for Couts. Far and away the best Flyer.

At least Bedard is a very likely outcome for y'all now.

yeah ellis has a "multi layered issue"the issue is he needs surgery and wont do it

couts idk back issues are fucky hopefully he comes back >< but even if he does hes probably not going to be 100%
hopefully this is the season frost breaks out into a 60+ point guy? haha

we got some good young D and wingers but the centers are not turning out so far ><

or are they fine and fletcher is playing next level chess? 14m in LTIR trade for some expiring contracts get to playoffs oh shit couts and ellis are both healthy and ready to rock
jk but yeah next year with 14m in LTIR and 7m+ jvr gone that 21m is going to be interesting

i mean with the injuries we have pretty much we dont have the depth to fill the holes they leave and are likely sellers at the deadline
our 2c is going to be like laughton/frost hell maybe even anisimov LOL

watched the fletcher interview my take aways

a little sketch how fletcher responded to the question of harts involvement and participation with the team canada investigation
couts out kind of shifts the season to lets give the kids a shot and have torts bring out the best in them see what we got probably sellers at deadline
sounds like the original plan was to have fedotov/sandstrom fight it out for backup spot but with fedotovs situation sandstrom likely grabs it and they got grosenick for the ahl/insurance incase ersson wasnt healthy which he is

sandstrom has been on a crappy ahl team for years and always see people covering the phantoms "sandstrom looked good again tonight" hes been good and put in the work and looked good in his short nhl stints i want to see him get more then 5games at nhl level
going to be lots of young kids like frost tippet probably cates allison brink york maybe foerster to show their stuff with a new coach that seems to bring out the good in most players even hart is only 24 still

Carter Hart (lower body) and Cam Atkinson (upper body) are each day to day for the Flyers.

Forward Artem Anisimov, on a professional tryout contract with the Flyers, is day to day with a lower-body injury sustained when he blocked a shot in the first period. He returned after a few minutes, blocked another, and had one hit and one shot on goal in 18:46 of ice time.

im starting to think fletcher signed yandle last season just to see if there is some sort of curse where every player gets hurt

i feel like with our injuries anisimov had a good shot at making the roster torts said something like "i didnt see im play last year idk where hes at but i like his versatility as a player"
and in the interviews reporters were talking about that and he was saying like yeah i can play pretty much any position then wade allison was like "except goalie right haha" and anisimov was like " i can play goalie too but they wont let me for longer then 5 mins"
he did pretty good in the khl last season he had 19p in 27 games not amazing but not too shabby either
