not sure bro, maybe age/aging and lowering of testosterone levels..
I find that depression comes when you have no goals in life. Goals and interests.
My depression went away within a few months of just establishing a routine and a set of goals.
Lose X amount of weight
Reach X rating in chess
Compose 1 more song I'm satisfied with
Complete the documentation for a game I want to develop
Start my new Berserk tattoo sleeve
Bench/Squat/Deadlift goals
etc
At some point you'll go from "wtf am I doing with my life" to "holy shit, how do I find the time to do everything I wanna do"
Obviously there needs to be some sort of strong motivator behind all of this. No matter how selfless or selfish the motivator might be. "Look good for the bitches" vs "altruistically do your part to better the world". Doesn't fucking matter. You just need a driving force to make you want to get back on track. Could be finding a partner, becoming the best version of yourself. Anything you believe in strong enough will do.
