This. It is a gamble but Hutton is not worth 4+ mil. You can not be bound to overpay like that.

Hope he stays at reasonable cost.

If the 7x7 Myers contract is in fact true I would be truly disgusted. Just a terrible move at that point that goes against some of the right moves that have been made.

You would cause serious long term damage with that deal.

/e if you want a big d-man convince Tyramkin to come back lol.

- large fan base that really wants to win (this could be a good or bad thing depending on the player)

Overall I think we have a leg up on some teams. Certainly not the most attractive, but not the worst either.

Benning didn't want to take all 9M of Subban, which is dumb, he's worth it (especially considering how bad our D is).

He also could have taken Subban and flipped him to another team while eating some cap and getting some extra assets back in return, or at least he could have made it a 3-way trade and acted as the facilitator/cap-eater.

Something like that is likely way over Benning's head, though.

so we will lose Hutton for nothing. LOL.

god I hope Lu's recapture penalty keeps Benning from doubling down on his stupidity but maybe it'll just encourage him further
