All skill proficiencies used at a level lower than your current rank now have a diminishing return chance to still gain proficiency points (Jun 11 2020)
Also keep in mind that there's only a chance to return proficiency points on lower level items than your current rank.
So while you have a chance to gain those (1-15) points it seems to vary on your current rank versus the tier of the item.
Example:
Rank 45 muting a tier 5 item generally returns no prof at all or a range from 1-5 points in my experience.
Rank 45 muting a tier 9 item (1 rank below my guaranteed prof tier) more often than not returns 5-15 points.
Does my example seem somewhat consistent to what other muters have experienced? (the range of the +points is what I'm interested here)
I break down quite alot of t5s and i dont get prof at all from those, when i do t7s it happens that i get 1prof every now and then
when i do t9s i get 20+ most of the time (i only do myst+ for that rank atm only to get essence) same rank as you.
The deminishing return isnt just by tier, it's on the magical levels on ranks, so if u go back 1 rank and do the same items u did the rank before for minimum u basicly get 77.9% prof of what you get on ur current minimum rank.
