During his recent podcast, Sean "X-Pac" Waltman commented on how WWE wanted Shawn Michaels to appear at the Greatest Royal Rumble event:
"[There's] a lot of money being thrown around," said Waltman. "It's an insane amount of money being thrown around. I know that this weekend I was in Baltimore and I was with Shawn Michaels, Scott Hall, and Kevin Nash and we were talking about that. They wanted to get Shawn [Michaels], and he was just like, 'you know what, don't even bother sending me an offer and trying to tempt me.' Because there's huge money offers. And he's going, 'I got a thing with one of my kids, and I'm doing that, and that's all there is to it.'"
Huge props to HBK for actually staying retired.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com noted the following about the length of the Greatest Royal Rumble match during his Elite audio:
“It’s going to be 98-minutes just with the entrances,” Johnson said. “We may actually end up with bell to bell with a match that lasts longer than the RAW gauntlet match that took place a couple months ago. We might be looking at the longest match in WWE history.”
- There has been talk that WWE might be doing an hour-long intermission for the Greatest Royal Rumble event to accommodate a religious tradition of Saudi Arabia. Here is what Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted about the runtime of the show:
“It may be longer, by normal traditions there’s going to be an hour intermission because they have a prayer hour which would take place in the middle of the show.”
Holy fuck this is going to be the longest PPV ever
Id like to Know how much they paid vince for this event
