Judging by;
Facial hair
Flowers still having some color and not looking completely dead
Him not being super skinny
Him not having died from lack of nutrients
etc

I'd say the event happened 2-4 weeks prior to him waking up? More around 2weeks but then again tv shows aren't logical and he could of been in the coma before the event happened for months. I dunno how they can explain just leaving him there... If my loved one was in hospital when that happened I'd get down there straight away and get them the f*** out of there, not just leave them there.

TBH, I think they didn't go to save him because that hospital was probably ground zero lol. Brought sick people into the hospital and then BAM sick people die and become zombies and then go on a rampage killing everyone. No one would dare go near there.

this series should be realy good and it showed a pic of his wife and kid wright b4 or after (dont remember) it went to that seen with his friend and wife so u knew it was her so it wasnt realy a spoiler but as soon as he went under the tank i remeberd that king of the hill and new there was that escape hatch lol should be good to see how he gets out though
