Guard your heart. Before something gets a chance to make it to your heart it has to go through your mind first. So be careful about the things you watch, the games you play, the music you listen to and the company that you keep. I'm not saying that all these things are sinful but everything is not always profitable. Here God says it better:

All things are lawful, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful, but not all things edify.

We want to be filling our minds with good things. This is what happens when we read the Bible, go to church, watch sermons, pray and fellowship with Christians. So when we fill our minds with the things of God and stop putting bad stuff in our minds, it reaches our hearts and renews our minds. Then we will start seeing the good fruits that Paul was talking about in his letter to the Galatians.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
