Had kinda hoped I would end up enjoying this, even though I knew it was going to be rough. I like the Rock and fucking love Elba/Stathom, but I still couldn't make myself like this movie. It's not terrible or anything, it's watchable, but just your typical over-the-top bad acting, horrible one-liners, forced tension that doesn't really play and laughable plot. Some of that shit is to be expected with action movies, but it can still be done in a way that's not bad. 5/10, maybe 6/10 if I'm being generous.
i feel like the movie was a little lacking in itself. but i think the background of shaw being told turns a whole new light on in the franchise. maybe he isnt the villain we have believed him to be until now.
