Posting a question about computer hardware and drivers.

Before you post:
  1. Is this the right forum to be asking my problem in?
This forum is designed only to ask computer hardware/software and driver related problems.

To ask about computer building, or to discuss compatibility with hardware (Ex. Will this processor work with this motherboard?) :
      http://forums.d2jsp.org/index.php?showforum=189

To ask anything else about computers or compuer related software (Ex. Why does vista lag my old machine?, Does anyone know of software that can do ....?, Did you hear about the new GFX Card?) :
      http://forums.d2jsp.org/index.php?showforum=188

  2. Have you tried googling your problem?
If you have a specific problem, there is a very good chance that someone else has had the same problem. Enter in your exact error message you receive and read the results. If you are unsure what to do, follow the posting steps below.

What to post:
  1. Your exact problem and/or error message you recieve.
We cannot help you if you provide vague problems and symptoms, and only state that you receive an error. Try to reproduce the error if possible and take a screenshot.

  2. Type of operating system that you have
Please include both the name of the windows build and the processor architecture (Ex. Windows XP sp2 x86) If you are unsure, please check or host a picture of your computer properties by right clicking my computer, then selecting properties. You can see an example here

  3. Type of hardware that you are having problems with (If applicable)
Please include the exact model of your hardware you are requesting help for. Include the brand, the model, and the extension. (Ex. Nvidia 8800 GTS, Linksys 82N Router)

  4. Type of computer you have(If applicable)
Please include the exact model of your computer you are requesting help for. (Ex. Gateway T-6208c Laptop)

  5. Any changes you have made(If applicable)
If you installed any new programs, new drivers or new hardware in your computer, state in the thread that you have (Ex. Updated the drivers for my network card)

Responding to a question about computer hardware and drivers.

Posting:
  1. Do not respond with rude or negative comments.
Responding with Google it, buy a new computer, insults or any mention of pornography, does not help the person with there problem and only causes spam.

  2. If you do not know the exact solution, do not respond with dangerous steps.
Giving suggestions is a great way to help, but giving wrong suggestions that could damage computer components or make the problem even worse is not needed.
