That's literally the best move they could have done? Not pay JJ and keep cook? They have mateson whose younger and 10x less injured. Also 10x cheaper to replace a rb then a super star WR loll

Lol no. Pay jefferson obviously, but convincing one or both to take a pay cut to keep the team as good as possible wouldve been the way to go. Its not rocket science.
Either the front office is fucking up cuz they cant convince a couple star players to take a couple million less, or the player(s) refusing to take a bit less arent the right players to build a championship team around.
Getting the bag is nice, for sure, but winning a superbowl is priceless; the bag just might need to be a bit smaller.

Fair enough, It is Minnesota so you gonna have to be winning or pay a shitty city tax. I think they have no choice, they gonna have to pay JJ and I doubt he would ever consider taking a discount. Cook was unreliable for them last few years and aging rbs = rapid regression. Think this was absolutely the best move for their future.

They tried to get Cook to take a pay cut and he turned it down... He is the reason why he got cut.

Regardless, RBs typically hit their wall at 28/29 years old anyways (if they even make it that long). Add onto his nagging injury history and mileage, it's not worth it.

RB is a young mans position. Draft em, use them up for 3-5 years and move on. Signing RBs to a 2nd contract rarely works out and history proves it.

Injuries sadly. May have ruined what could have been such a promising young career.

He had his Achilles tear, which is hard to come back from for skill players, but he was also getting his knee drained weekly this past season.

Pats had 3 injury waiver clauses in his contract when they signed him to a 2 year, $4m contract this off season. 1 for the Achilles he popped, but 1 for each knee as well. Rare to see 3 injury clauses in a contract, which obviously isn't a good sign.

I'll continue to root for my boy JRob though and hopefully he gets some more chances.

Do you guys think a team going all-in this season brings him aboard?

I think he wants a multi-year deal and that doesn't really fit with that scenario

I'd think Kareem Hunt or Fournette fit better with that, and they'd be more likely to take a 1 year deal I think
