How do socket quests work, can items socketed in hell get the same sockets from nightmare or normal? I have some items I need socketed, would normal or nightmare qsts get the same sockets they’d get from hell?

Socket quests from norm-hell are all the same.

Magic items have a 50% chance of rolling 1/2 sockets if the base allows 2+ sockets.

White/grey items get max possible sockets based on the difficulty they were found.

Rares/Sets/uniques only get 1 socket from socket quests.

i think there is a thing when some items found in normal won't get all the sockets. never wasted a socket quest to confirm this though.

I was rolling sockets today, in 3 Fire 20 Fcr Magic Diadems
2 rolls @ Normal - 1 Soc
3 rolls @ NM - 2 Soc

Nah it’s just 50/50

The ilvl on white items can limit the max amount of sockets on done items though

number of sockets on white items not based on ilvl, not difficulty. which makes stuff a bit more complicated...
