Buy a new replacement board for 175 or upgrade? Currently using an X79-GD45 plus and a 4930k. I'm thinking around 500 bucks for ram, board, and CPU. Would that be enough or worth it? My 4930k does well still but the socket is twelve years old. Lol

just sell your cpu/ram cause no one here will tell you not to get new gen for some reason.. imo if your good i'd prob just get a mobo but if your finding any cpu struggle at all just for sure get new.

Honestly the CPU is doing fine. It's still getting over 100 fps in games maxed out at 1440p. I think it'd rather wait a few years and upgrade the whole thing new. On the other hand I could replace the motherboard, slap in my 970, sell the rig for 500, then buy new parts.

Your Motherboard Launched near the end of 2014 ( and lets assume you don't even have the first one made at launch )
Every 5-7 years, you need to change your CR2032 Battery on Motherboard.
You can go to almost any Gas-Station in the united states, and pick up a battery for like $2.99 or less.

( The first signs of a battery on its way out ) Random Beeping to Re-seat your ram/graphics card.
So if you haven't already replaced it, now might be the time to do that !

* 4th of july weekend , has a lot of sales going on *
Otherwise you can always buy something used on facebook market tons of people are selling there old Gaming Mobo, cpu, ram combos that might be slightly newer than what you have now.

Did you even read the thread? Lol
I got a new one for 175 instead of 275. Haven't put it together yet. Been too busy with life.

The computer was having problems with random shutdowns so CMOS is definitely not the problem. Rather its an issue with the mosfets and the VRMs. I'm guessing it couldn't handle the power draw anymore.

Switched out all the other pieces and it was doing random shit like power cycling and stuff. Towards the end it wouldn't even boot into bios. Something is faulty with the power rails on the board.

It's fixed. Mobo was bad. The end. Lol

No more details available.

What details would you like? The computer would randomly turn off while playing games and then get into a boot cycle where it wouldn't even make it into bios until I unseated all the RAM and reseated the RAM. I switched out the power supply and I switched out the graphics card and I switched out the dimm sticks and tried all the combos. Bad motherboard was bad.
