I believe the problem lies in the upscaling of the original D2’s resolution (800x600) to whatever your current modern monitor is running (probably 1920x1080). Try lowering resolution. Additionally, some people believe that lowering contrast to half also helps to restore the original colors and lightning.

You cant change or improve this its wellknown another bad thing in resurrected.

Legacy gfx is worse than in original game friend..and cant
be same like you remember.

You have to play in new gfx or in worse old gfx than original.

Its not about colors.

Its not about modern monitor.

How do you think people play diablo2 original? Ofcourse in new systems and monitors.
