The attatched article is, in my little opinion, far more fascinating than the vid. Even at its depth of 7.6mi (12.2km), that depth is not even scratching the surface of how far down there is still left of the 25mi crust 'til the mantle, which is the next layer and which is 1,800mi thick. Sheesh! As a tiny note: the Kármán line which our species uses as an arbitrary boundary between space and our uppermost atmosphere, is only 62mi high. So, we've been often to space and as far as the surface of Mars and just outside our solar system (Voyager 1 and 2), but we have not gone further into the Earth than 7.6mi. We do more more about the space that surrounds us than the matter which is below us.
