Just started going to the gym again! Looking to get small gains, while keeping overall fitness at a similar level.
For anybody who tracks, got a decent advice? I got a membership at a PF. The place is somewhat busy but there is enough equipment there.
I'm 5'8'' - around 215 lbs. Back when I was in shape, I was around 175-180 labs. Looking to get to around 190-195ish at an end goal. 200-205 as a starting goal.
Any advice on a good rotation than I can do 3-4 times a week? Also, how many calories should I look to burn per session? Around 300-400?
It has been close to a decade since I've actively done any weight lifting or body workouts.

I'm not sure if he is still active, but SKCraynor seems to be a pretty reputable guy to PM if you wanna go in-depth. Otherwise, you are best off doing your own research using a search engine or YouTube or something.

Very few individuals in this subforum are qualified to be giving out advice with regard to what you should or should not be doing with your body.

Bodybuilding and weightlifting arent rocket science though.

Agreed, but despite that fact, the amount of crap training practices circulating around every commercial gym like turds in a toilet that won't flush is staggering.

In retrospect, OP could see gains very easily with a consistent regimen, even if whatever they are doing would be far into the realm of 'suboptimal'.

I just think it's interesting to choose to come to a nearly dead d2jsp subforum for beginner level fitness advice when a nigh limitless wealth of information from extremely respected and well known experts is readily available elsewhere.

Fair enough. The forum has seen better days, too.

Hi, I don't have advice for you since I don't go to the gym, however, I think that you should aim a bit lower than 190 lbs. I plugged your numbers into a BMI calculator, it says you would still be in the overweight range at 190 lbs. In fact you'd be almost obese. So I think you should try and be a bit more aggressive.
