As finding a relationship and not one night experiences does take time, I highly suggest also exploring MeetUp gatherings in things that you like or are interested in, e.g., cycling, hiking, going to the planetarium, music, etc... There is a site called MeetUp that brings people together. So while using dating sites, also look at doing something you like and maybe the chemistry will be there with another attendee. Personally, I like to be fair on communication terms.

1) Match
2) Chat a bit to see if you vibe with each other
3) Pick a date
4) Go on date
5) If the date is nice for both people, exchange numbers
6) If the date wasn't great, be honest ASAP. Then unmatch (Nobody likes a boomerang match)

People giving out personal info in the first chat is just wild to me. (But I am also in my 30's, younger people may feel differently.)
