hi guy
just made my first hc sorc im at 75 now
started with nova and siwtch to frozenorb i want to make kind immortal
but atm moment not enough skillpont to max frozenorb,icebolt,cold mastery,es and telekinesis
is it beter to wait or cancel icebolt to put points into es and telekinesis ?
frozen orb dmg will be affected alot ? lmk what you guy think

Switch to Blizzard. Alot more damage than orb.
Or just wait till you level up a bit more if you want to use orb.

I always use es+telekinesis when using sorc in hc. Safety in trade for dammage. But there is a balance. Use merc properly n don't rush. I use orb, static, hydra.

how do you spend you skillpoint with orb hydra with es and telekinesi you can mp me

blizz kinda annoy me since you cant really target if they move from the area

Humm.. been a while now. I usually use static field and fire bolt+ball start of ladder. Then go hydra first thing, then orb when i get hydra to respectable level. Mana shield i put a few points in as soon as i get it, i typically try to avoid taking damage anyway. Only in higher levels i start putting more points into telekinesis, since when you get like +3-5 to skill points from gear, mana shield is easy to get to around 50-60% reduction, which is quite enough for me. Relying totally on it is not very healthy either, since it becomes a false sense of security. You should always avoid taking damage in any circumstance. Yet, i know, in hardcore, that is not always realistic ^^ so having it in any case, is a good thing, as a security measure.

That's my assessment too, i don't like blizzard ^^ It's too random in how it hits. Orb creates a froststorm in front of you that chills everything and kills most of what is caught in it. You can rely on it. That is important in hardcore.

Hydra is great because you can toss it up past doors and corners, eliminating risks of getting ambushed by super fast super strong boss monster packs. It's also great for bosses, you toss hydra up, it does the job while you run around dodging diablo's lightning storm. Don't forget static either, level 10-15 = Great for quick monster hp reduction.

Your problem is your orb is low ass damage. That's always going to be a problem unless you switch to blizzard.
You don't just use blizzard as one skill. You use it with glacial spike which will freeze packs of enemies still in their tracks.
I'm level 95 with this build and far from dying.
Think of the packs that can actually harm you or drop the gg gear and you can level up off. Like lord de seis, diablo, blood lords, mephy, lister, baal etc. Orb is way less effective at taking them down vs blizzard/spike build.

and you doing blizz/es or full blizz ?

Es if your res is low and leveling through NM etc. Then switch to vita. Or straight vita all the way. Depends what gear you have.

Vita is always going to be better for cold sorc. Cos of mana burn and because your stuck using insight on merc. A merc with might aura Reaper’s, Gface, and Treachery/Fort will beat any insight merc. No need to hybrid build when you have a merc like that you can go straight cold/static.

Nova es block sorc can equal it though but requires some serious hard to find or expensive gear to get that kind of es build.

The other build that is good is a fireball/blizz sorc. But that requires your sorc to be mid to high level 90s for the fire and the cold to do decent damage. And requires a full inventory of skillers.

Orb/hydra can work ok too but if you have played the other builds you will know it's not as effective. But it is easier to play because you don't have to tele bounce around as much.
