He has repeatedly said he would do things and then done them, and he will be under alot of pressure from his hawkish advisors to escalate the conflict. One of the arguments is that he wants a legacy, MAGA, and if this holds any weight, while noting he has surrounded himself with people that enable him rather then caution him, then he has to beat Iran. I simply do not see Israel backing down, and therefore Trump can't back down. in my opinion.

its almost a guarantee the bombings will continue but its an inevitability ala Iraq ,Afghanistan, Vietnam, etc that no meaningful progress will be made in Iran and we will pull out after having wasted billions (hopefully not trillions!)

At the moment english media is saying "if they can attack Diego Garcia they can attack London! or Berlin!" fearmongering.
my entire attitude is this is all irrelevant. From a western (and Iranian) standpoint it is all about hitting Israel and operations at the Straight of Hormuz.

The leader of England (who i despise for my own reasons) has said this war is illegal, but he seems to be doing all he can not to fall out further with Trump. He is like the BBC - no one likes him. One group says he is a horrible person for supporting Israel and another group says he is a horrible person for supporting Gaza. He is a fair weather friend.

TLDR: Diego Garcia is very far from Iran and it suggests a certain degree of capability from Iran, which, honestly, was already known. it does not change anything.

I suspect the oil reserves are going to have to be drained quite a bit to keep gas from going up. Gas going through the roof would be yet one of several campaign promises not kept.
Low oil reserves means a long war campaign is not possible though.
