This is a very reliable mapper i've followed for a long time. He's Russian/pro Russian but has always been accurate. It looks like Pokrovsk/Myrnohrad is cooked. I posted about this a few weeks ago and you could clearly see the cauldron forming. There's really only one major road out now, which is never the situation you want to be in when enemy drones can basically sit and wait as you try to reinforce/retreat.

Interesting enough, one of the key points of contention in the peace is Ukraine/Europe refusing to give up the rest of the Donetsk. I've said this half a dozen times in this thread, Russia is not walking away from this war without securing the entirety of Donetsk oblast. It doesn't matter what Ukraine/Europe keeps saying it's happening through negotiations or through force as we see.

Some rather overtly mutinous articles and social media from UA media propagandists and Azov sources alike, and those pro-UA sources saying the fortifications in Donetsk had been abandoned or so severely unmanned they quoted "8 soldiers in a 1 km trench" with nothing behind it. Azov's Bohdan Krotevych is out there saying its a total fuck-up and Zelensky has been allowing the front lines to collapse. He was the former Azov leader who resigned earlier this year

Also in addition to the Russian breakthroughs and all that, the NYT chose today to report on the missile strikes from last month that they say killed several foreign recruits including Americans:

And still won't detail when US citizens are killed, we basically only learn it from Russian sources when its at the front lines and they take dog tags, if someone dies in Kropyvnytskyi 150 miles from the front lines, we'll probably never even learn the truth when the war ends

35 year old Californian american citizen was killed in another drone strike caught on camera yesterday. Looks like a tactic being used to Russia is to leave drones on/near roadways where they are hard to detect and activating and flying them only as targets come near, an FPV launched from short range and took them by surprise. And this guy had a wife and two daughters but was still fighting on the UA front

The Ukraine conflict is portrayed as a good war, black and white, no grey. i.e. good vs evil, so its natural with this backdrop for "good" people to enlist and fight for democracy, truth, justice and the American way, and all that stuff.

The official phrasing pushed out today by Ukrainian government channels with regard to the Pokrovsk breakthrough is "There was no major breakthrough. Just because some tiny groups of a handful of soldiers have sporadically seeped through doesn't mean that Russia controls that territory." In the same statement, they also confirmed that reserves were mobilized and sent as emergency reinforcements to the Pokrovsk/Dobropilja front. Go figure.
