If it comes down to literally the whole world starving it out in a trade war there's no way USA loses. we've pre-fattened up our manpigs for 3 generations. no one can win a hunger strike against a population that on average can live 6 months on only water and multivitamins. Good luck to the skinny nordic countries in the upcoming hunger games.

Between 2012 and early 2025, the Dow Jones Industrial had grown by 230%. Nobody in their right mind would think that the actual, real-world US economy had grown nearly that much over this timeframe. Fact of the matter is that the stock market was dramatically overinflated and long overdue for a correction anyway.

Doesn't mean that there won't be adverse effects coming out of a stock market decline, but let's not act like the stock market going down 10% actually means that ordinary citizens have become 10% poorer.

It's a trade war vs. China. They hurt the most. To save face, China added their own tariffs vs the US which makes the situation even worse for China itself. China was also using Vietnam loop holes to go around tariffs vs the US Singapore is another country which will suffer big time.

Trump issueing tariffs he pulled out of his ass will have two very clear consequences:

1. A lot of jobs will be lost due to products not being viable anymore
2. Every country in the world will reduce trade with the US every chance they can (for the same reason they plan to be military independent from you - you just can't be trusted)

Will some production that moved away from the US come back? Maybe, we will see. What we already know is that you lost the position you built from WW2 on as the leading nation of the western world in 3 months and for now have nothing to show for it.

Why are world economists expecting the US to still stay at the top of world economies in 2025? Seems premature giving all the drama.
