What do you guys think about inserting a protector's stone jewel into a erep fools claw for a ww sin?

1% chance to cast lvl 15 fade doesn't seem like it will proc that much...

Just curious, I was messing around in maxroll and the dmg increase from this jewel is insane compared to anything else.

Was also curious about this but if the lower level fade procs vs melees you would lose a lot of DR mid fight

I mean, what are the odds that even happens? Any mathematicians around?

Using the lightning uber jewel on my javazon, I've seen the cyclone armor proc maybe 4 times in like few hours of game play.
My real concern is that it'll proc and I won't know it replaced my level 40+ fade for a level 15.

meh not a mathematician by any means, but fun thing to calculate.
someone much better with math than me and a PhD in d2 mechanics can probably help but here’s what I came up with

Dual claw setup at max IAS breakpoint:
- Main hand: hit check every 4 frames
- Off-hand: hit check every 4 frames (at 8th frame checkpoint + beyond)
- Combined: ~12.5 attacks per second (game calculates frames @ 25fps)

hard to fully calculate cause I don’t think anyone whirlwinds for 10 seconds at a time (I hope not at least) but for the sake of it let’s just assume it gives you 125 total hit checks // Each has 1% chance to proc lvl 15 Fade

Probability of at least one proc:
P(proc) = 1 − (0.99)^ 125 = 72%

[ added a space so I don’t tag someone after the ^ ]

basically any sequence lasting 10+ seconds, you’re more likely than not to overwrite your main Fade at least once

other situations from the same formula just more tailored. I’d assume each ww is like 2secs so like 25 hits = 22% proc chance for fade override

Code
|Duration|Total Hits|Proc Chance|
|--------|----------|-----------|
|2 sec |25 |22% |
|5 sec |62 |46% |
|10 sec |125 |72% |
|20 sec |250 |92% |

It’s worth the trade off. You die in a couple hits from melee anyways. So give er

If you make sure to be as low level as possible, with the worst def possible, and only use 1 claw to avoid clawblock it will trigger more often ;) :P

You need to take on fire absorb, go stand in flames until trigger.

Haven’t had any issues with it proc’ing mid duel

Ghost has 63% wb so it’s really 0.37% chance when being struck

And I believe it’s only being struck with melee attacks (not traps)

So sin v sin no issue. Every ghost should be using pro jewel in claw
