Not really I usually get it in like 10-20 rolls.

Cruel is level 43 and a level 75 a qlevel weapon will get it reasonably quick as the chipped gems drop the mods it can get by 25 or 30 levels, dont remember off the top of my head.

The gems drop anyways you might as well use them for something.

btw i got insanely lucky and found some 1-600 dmg eth rare spear pretty early on my sorc, like lvl 65

Nice, yeah I like getting a big damage merc weapon as I usually go for pure cold (frozen orb or blizz). Most cold immunes I care to kill aren't that beefy.

you think the firewall orb spec is any good?

It's alright as a backup skill but lord de seis and sometimes lister spawn both fire and cold immune. If you're going to dual spec you might as well do meteorb like everyone else. Some builds I'll put a point into enchant to help out the merc.

firewall does more dmg per second than a whole meteor does :/

but i guess firewall is useless unless u have a merc tanking them

Some people respec to frozen orb right away at level 30, I just like using leaf staff and fireball/meteor and then respec to one or the other depending on gear found at that point.

I believe meteorb build is a holdover from pre-synergies D2, with synergies it's a bit too much of an investment. It still gets through the game sure, but so do builds with no gear at all.
