hungering arrow is good

Hungering arrow if you are a noob. Bola shot does significantly more damage. Especially with the large packs in act 1, simply shoot one bola at front, take a couple steps over and shoot another one into a seperate part of the pack.

If you don't do a lot of DPS, I could understand why you may not see the benefit of bola shot



My dh is at 85k life with 214k dps unbuffed


I stay gloomed up almost 24/7 and I am constantly in the middle of packs... it's just how I like to play. With that being said, I have a habit of shooting 10-12 ball light, vault in, gloom, bola shot to destroy the whole pack.


I couldn't do this with HA nearly as effective, therefore bola shot for the win


Don't be lazy and aim


edit: I don't get how people say EA and Bola are the same. Just because they are AOE doesn't mean they are the same... EA triggers NS a lot better than then bola, hence the fact I use it. Bola has a much bigger radius when you are going through Trash. Two completely different purposes... and I use them as intended

Just to add to this.. My DH is at 200k not buffed and I use bola shot all the time, although I do suggest using brooding If you use bola shot to make up for the delayed lifesteal from gloom . I use rapid fire bombardment for elites which is nice for wallers beause if your bombardment hits the wall and the elite is within 8yards it will still hit! and can roll through mp4 like butter. Farm COTA on mp8 solo due to bein able to snapshot gloom on rapid fire. From my experience it really depends on if you like calamity or manticore though. If you like using nightstalker and vault around(which I think is pointless now) then obviously you'd use calamity for the extra cc for xtra disc.

ooo.. that is where we will differe dramatically.. im pro-vault 100%. I could never play without vault.. and I run NS with a manti. 54% crit so NS with Ball light still procs so damn good


Id like to think I run faster than most DH's out there... actually I am pretty sure I do

I started to run without vault when I started to multibox demon hunters. I use companion or vault

While using both Bola and EA u just miss some imba DPS to single target like Rapid Fire. Using 3 attack skill is not in an option. DH has to much good defensive skills to sacrifice one for extra attack.

I also agree that Bola >> HA. It's all about mobility and fast aiming. I,m usually 1-2 hits to the group mobs and when they start comming to me forming the line one by one, I vault to the left/right side and serve one Bola per mobs. I'm ussing now Bola as main attack and Fire support to some single target elite, so important for me is also attack speed. With Calamity (atm. 2.67aps) I can aim 3.67 mobs till my 1st bola trig, so that means if 1st explode kill 2nd, 3rd aimed mobs, we have 3 explosions at the same time. It seem more effective compare with 2 manti explosions.
