[QUOTE=Jagx,5 Jun 2012 13:34]You'll be happy to know that Diablo 3 was setup to be a console game.

The reason only 4 players are allowed into a game is for 4 controllers.

The reason the quests make you walk in a linear closed circuit as opposed to big open worlds. is to keep your buds next to you on the same screen.

The reason for no skill points or complicated number crunching? to make console players happy.

The company who made D3? ACTIVISION - Known for console games.

The reason you have 4-5 skills on your bar at once? Very easy to use a XBox / Ps3 controller to use skills.

The reason no runes / complicated shit exists. Simply wouldn't be fun for console gamers.

The reason you cant make game name? Auto join for console users.

The reason for Achievements in game? It's popular among console / COD fans.

The reason for passive skills? Perks like Call of Duty uses.
Everyone unlocks perks and uses their favorite ones.

we're just beta testing for the console release so it wont be full of bugs.

that's how Acti-Blizz intends to make the real money.

Also explains why the game doesn't have VoIP for Pc gamer chat.

Hope this isn't true but ever since I saw the dumbed down shit this game has going for it.
I believe it is true.

A job listing has appeared on Gamasutra’s Job Connect website and Blizzard’s own job section looking for a “Senior Producer, Console Diablo III.”

If the job title wasn’t enough to convince you, the description adds:

The ideal candidate has prior experience in console game development and has a keen knowledge of how each discipline operates and interacts.

I'm prolly not adding a lot but i think you made some decent points. Blizz said from the beginning that they were gonna try to make it for console and that's cool i guess but they have def made some development choices that leaned away from diablo 2 classic to more console friendly game and while some of those things are fun or whatever, this game definetly feels less like diablo 2 than i would have hoped for. but i'm not gonna lie, i'm having a pretty good time playing it. but then again i never was a OMGPVP kinda d2 player, i just don't have the time/inclination. but in the end, it's money that talks and i'm just guessing but i think console (cross platform)games prolly make more money than just PC games so, (y)our bitching aint gonna change much.

All of these things are part of Battle.Net 2. By your logic StarCraft 2 was meant for consoles and we all know how RTS' work on consoles.

Console development

Blizzard is considering a concept design for consoles, reportedly even hiring staff for a console version, while stating this concept will not affect PC/Mac release dates. The project's lead designer, Josh Mosqueira, said Blizzard is serious about bringing Diablo III to consoles.

On 10 January 2012, Blizzard community manager Bashiok tweeted "Yup. Josh Mosqueira is lead designer for the Diablo console project." However, a Blizzard spokesperson later clarified that Bashiok's tweet was only "intended as a confirmation that Blizzard is actively exploring the possibility of developing a console version of Diablo III," adding, "This is not a confirmation that Diablo III is coming to any console platform."

Works fine if it supports mouse, C&C Red Alert on PSX for example.
