better question is: which AoE skill do I want to use?

Bola shot =
+ best damage/hatred (obviously lol because it has no cost)
+ good damage (chuanjiao explained it very well)

- delay before doing damage
- low Nightstalker procs

Elemental Arrow - Ball lightning

+ good damage/hatred
+ high nightstalker procs

- low burst/lower dps
- slow projectile

Multishot, rapid fire - bombarment, every other popular AoE spell

+ better damage, burst
+ good nightstalker procs usually

- high hatred cost


It makes little sense to use both Elemental Arrow AND bola shot. So Hungering Arrow is a great choice with EA because it's better single target damage, and you already have AoE damage

If you don't wanna use Elemental Arrow : Ball lightning, you should really consider Bola shot.

If you don't use Nighstalker, Bola is probably better than Elemental Arrow, especially when going Bola + Traps (echoing blast) or Bola + rapid fire for huge single target/anti-elite damage

P.S. Bouzigue +100. I use Bola + Bombarment.

That people buys a Manticore for x millions of gold on bid and puts it up for say.. x * 2

About Bombardment.. doesn't Loaded for Bear yield more burst? Or? I tried it briefly, but it seemed shit, and travel time.. well.. sucks.

bola gives me a semi'. spam it and spam it some more and who really notices if shots are wasted and don't blow when your surounded by dead mobs.

Heh, man, I tried exactly this skill just yesterday! Sucks. =/

P.S. Was looking for the top manticore for a month, stopped wasting time, bought one with 1240 dps.

cluster arrow - cluster bombs, learn to use it and its like 3 times more damage than Loaded for beer

this is how i prefer to play dh, but ofc traps vs cluster bombs is all about what mp u are playing, low mp = bombs, higher = traps

I love Bola + Cluster arrow - Dazzling Arrow. That stun really helps imo.
