if i understand correctly, these are the two options:

1) move the chair -> son dies
2) don't move the chair -> son dies anyway, plus some other dude

so if you want the fewest people to die, go with 1. if you want more to die, go with 2. how is this a dilemna? are you trying to decide if you're jealous and want someone else to die too or what?
