Well I want to buy a laptop but now isn't the best time, doing a shit ton of research and theres a few hot video cards that just came onto the market and another that is due soon, so I am waiting to see how they perform before I buy, so maybe another month or so.  Plus I am hella busy and wouldn't have much time for it right now anyway.

Specifically looking at the Sager/Clevo models of laptops, custom high end shit, and the gpu I have been researching is the Nvidia GTX 680M (also 670M/675M but those arent as good) and the AMD/ATI 7970 models, but they all just got released so not enough testing they for me to make a real decision.

If I'm gonna drop over a G on a laptop I want to do the research first (probably ~1300-1500 USD.)  Need my free time to loosen up some too before I even consider it, but I got the cashflow set aside for when I am ready.  ;)

Weaksauce.

"Can all toons be Melee or Tanker or Both?"
"Yes & No... 1st off, you need the right gear, 2nd'ly Alchemists are NEVER melee"
"Lastly, all toons use "Character Class Specific" Items which can affect their effectiveness"
"Use this link to verify toon stats / equipment: http://ladderslasher.d2jsp.org/index.php?g=2 "
"Use this link to verify weapon ratio stats: http://ladderslasher.d2jsp.org/index.php?g=3 "

Commonly Asked Questions:
People tend to ask alot of questions and want a direct answer, in all reality, it comes down to how much fg you have and/or willing to spend;
"if you have no fg, you find what you can use for that character class"
"if you have upto 50fg, you buy best enhanced weapon / armor / charm that your character class can USE"
"if you have upto and over 1,000fg, then you work backwards, you buy your MQ gear (level 50-55 items) first and build down the Tier levels, best for cheapest value"
"if you have the funds to buy up sets, then you want to optimise your toons from feeder to headhunter"
"example of weapon optimising for toons: Axes (Barb/Fighter/Rogue/Paladin/Headhunter) [] Dagger (Samurai/Monk/Ninja) [] Staff (Warlock)"
"example of armor optimising for toons PURE MELEE: Axes = Strength or Dex equal ratio, buy DEX robes [] Dagger = Dex highest ratio, buy DEX robes [] Staff = Dex highest ratio, buy DEX robes"

Most Common Tank Classes:
Barbarian [] Fighter [] Rogue [] Samurai [] Paladin [] Headhunter
Remember how I said toons have "Character Class Specific" items? Well there is ONE thing that all
these classes have in common, they can ALL use Robe, Padded Robe, Leather & Scale Armor.
The Rogue & Headhunter can NOT use Chain Mail or Plate Mail.
BEST Versatile Tank Armor = Scale (This armor has the best overall defense vs BOTH magical / physical damage)
BEST Physical Tank Armor = Plate (High end defense) / Chain (Low end defense)
Not going to go into simantics about Robe vs Padded Robe vs Leather, as these are more for BEST magical defense properties

Secondary Tanker Class = Guardian:
This toon only uses Chain & Plate, not just that, they are also restricted to using Healing charm types only, BUT, they
have the BEST stat placement for Int/Vita to create Tank/Healer build... Personally I like melee/healer, but, I am nuts :)

On Rare Occasions: Mage/Monk/Ninja/Warlock Tankers:
During times there are occasions where a group can not find a normal tanker, so the robe character class
has to tank, which just means that they need Padded Robes with very nice Enhanced Effect... but then there
are alot of other things that can help group to survive, like having a great healer in group, but this is where
older gamers start to excel at this game.

Pure Melee Build:
Weapon
= Best Enhanced Effect
Armor
= Highest Stat to the Highest Weapon Ratio Stat... example: Sword Ratio Strength 75 / Dexterity 25
Main Charm Slot
= Highest Stat to the Highest Weapon Ratio Stat... example: Sword Ratio Strength 75 / Dexterity 25
ACC Charm Slot
= Best Enhanced Effect Heal (OPTIONAL, but comes in handy at times if solo'ing)
Stats Softcore
= Vitality 60 MINIMUM Rest goes into the Highest Weapon Ratio Stat... example: Sword Ratio Strength 75 / Dexterity 25
Stats Hardcore
= Vitality 75 MINIMUM Rest goes into the Highest Weapon Ratio Stat... example: Sword Ratio Strength 75 / Dexterity 25

Tanker Melee Build:
Weapon
= Best Enhanced Effect
Armor
= Best Enhanced Effect
Main Charm Slot
= Highest Stat to the Highest Weapon Ratio Stat... example: Sword Ratio Strength 75 / Dexterity 25
ACC Charm Slot
= Best Enhanced Effect Heal (OPTIONAL, but comes in handy at times if solo'ing)
Stats Softcore
= Vitality 75 MINIMUM Rest goes into the Highest Weapon Ratio Stat... example: Sword Ratio Strength 75 / Dexterity 25
Stats Hardcore
= Vitality 95 MINIMUM Rest goes into the Highest Weapon Ratio Stat... example: Sword Ratio Strength 75 / Dexterity 25

"What is the best abilities I should use whether I am solo'ing or in a group?"
"The best way to identify the BEST abilities, is based on two scenarios"
"1: Group = 1-71 climb [5 ppl in group] / Solo = 1 to 4 Toon Group [] Based on Toon Used"

Most Common Pure Melee Abilities 1-71 climb:
Once a group is setup to do a 1-71 climb, it is best to ask what ROLE they want your toon to play... in most cases for pure melee
the answer is simple... Pump Multistrike if you are a Feeder (Barb/Fighter/Rogue). Once you have unlocked Samurai, the dynamics
can change which abilities are best to use.

Barbarian [] Fighter [] Rogue [] Samurai [] Paladin [] Monk [] Ninja [] Headhunter
Barb = 4 points Knockdown (58%) / 5 points Powerstrike (40%) / 3 points Retribution (48%) = Level 55 (146%) = middle
Fighter = 7 points Powerstrike (77%) / 5 points Knockdown (40%) = Level 55 (117%)
Rogue = 5 points Knockdown (40%) / 7 points Backastrophe (77%) = Level 55 (117%)
Samurai = 6 points Multistrike (51%) / 6 points Backastrophe (51%) = level 55 (101%)
Paladin = points Multistrike (%) / 6 points Revenge (72%) = Level 55 (144%) = middle
Monk = 4 points Crosstrike (58%) / 4 points DoubleStrike (58%) / 4 points Multistrike (36%) = level 55 (152%)
Ninja =

Is this starting to waffle on?

Weapon Choice:
This is one of those areas where it is really dependent on you and other factors like funds, SO, I am just going to state
what I believe to be the best to use based on optimum versatility (basically 3 sets of weapons)

Axe (Barb/Fighter/Rogue/Paladin/Headhunter) [] Dagger (Rogue/Mage/Samurai/Monk/Ninja) [] Staff (Rogue/Mage/Monk/Warlock)
Note: Axe / Dagger & Staff damage increases with Dexterity, thus, when creating a pure melee build, buy DEX robe or padded robe for optimisation.
..... Rogue is also the optimum character class to use with all those weapons, also note that they start off with 60 dexterity, but only 35 vitality
..... Vitality: add 25 = 60 [lvl16] / add 40 = 75 [lvl31] / add 60 = 95 [lvl51]
Axe (Barb/Fighter/Rogue/Paladin/Headhunter) [] Sword (Barb/Fighter/Rogue/Samurai/Ninja) [] Staff (Rogue/Mage/Monk/Warlock)

Well... I feel like I am getting there... or maybe waffling:

Weapon Choice:
This is one of those areas where it is really dependent on you and other factors like funds, SO, I am just going to state
what I believe to be the best to use based on optimum versatility (basically 3 sets of weapons)

Set 1:
Axe = Dex or Strength [] Usable by Barb/Fighter/Rogue/Paladin/Headhunter
Dagger = Dex [] Usable by Rogue/Mage/Samurai/Monk/Ninja
Staff = Dex [] Usable by Rogue/Mage/Monk/Warlock

Set 2:
Axe = Dex or Strength [] Usable by Barb/Fighter/Rogue/Paladin/Headhunter
Sword = Strength [] Usable by Barb/Fighter/Rogue/Samurai/Ninja
Staff = Dex [] Usable by Rogue/Mage/Monk/Warlock
Note: Once again, Rogue = Optimum character class: Strength = 30

Personal Comment:
I have seen many people starting out and asking, "What is the best weapon to use on a [insert character class here]?"
My answer revolves around that character class starting stats in conjunction with the weapons they can use! Here is a list:

Code
Barbarian  [] Strength 60 [] Dexterity 25 = Club & Warhammer [Based on 90/10 Ratio]
Fighter    [] Strength 50 [] Dexterity 40 = Axe              [Based on 50/50 ratio]
Rogue      [] Strength 30 [] Dexterity 60 = Dagger           [Based on 10/90 ratio]
Magician   [] Strength 20 [] Dexterity 50 = Dagger           [Based on 10/90 ratio]
Guardian   [] Strength 30 [] Dexterity 10 = Club & Warhammer [Based on 90/10 Ratio]
Samurai    [] Strength 45 [] Dexterity 50 = Dagger           [Based on 10/90 ratio]
Paladin    [] Strength 55 [] Dexterity 30 = Club & Warhammer [Based on 90/10 Ratio]
Monk       [] Strength 40 [] Dexterity 65 = Dagger           [Based on 10/90 ratio]
Ninja      [] Strength 40 [] Dexterity 70 = Dagger           [Based on 10/90 ratio]
Warlock    [] Strength 15 [] Dexterity 45 = Staff            [Based on only usable weapon]
Headhunter [] Strength 55 [] Dexterity 75 = Axe & Battleaxe  [Based on ratio and only usable weapons]
Alchemist ---------- NO WEAPONS AT ALL

The list is my personal view, not necessarilly what I or you should use... if you are going to buy up Dex gear, then the weapon choice/toon choice will change!
also, some people ask "Is it better to use Heavy Weapons?" Basically, can you deal with the slowness of the weapon? Also, can other people stand it?...
I like them to be honest, but, if you want to be effective in a group, then it maybe better for you to use 1 handed weapons that only have a 1 second delay vs 2

"Variables determine certain abilities to use, but the principle is based on your toon abilities"

Tank Basic Abilities [3-5 Person Group]:
Following is based on best number of monsters attacked in conjunction with % chance to charge up that ability:
Common Tank:
Barbarian = Knockdown (Min 4 points = 58%) [] Powerstrike (Min 4 points = 36%) [] Backstab (Min 4 points = 36%): Level 55 (130%)
