Are books the same price whether you buy the physical copy or the digital version for the kindle?

digital is cheaper than physical copies, most ebooks are 2$

ones in the public domain are all free digitally as well

I find new ebooks to be only a dollar or two cheaper than their physical counterparts. Just torrent that shti
