Just too start I have a collection of near 700 books in my room, on top of close to 30 books on my kindle. So any popular authors I have pretty much read already.

I am looking for a long series, or a long book with an intent for a series.
Very cryptic, or complex storylines.
No cookie cutter storylines, boy finds magic egg/stone/sword/blah blah blah has to save the realm ect.

My favorite authors.

John Ringo
R.A. Salvatore
David Weber
(Can't remember anymore at my apartment.)

So which books would you absolutely recommend to me?

P.S. Yes I know I am addicted to books, thankfully my girlfriend puts up with my addiction :P

Actually surprisingly quite a few I can look into, thank you for the recommendations. Although it's really hard to remember what I have and have not read, so I'm not totally sure until I actually start reading a book.

I'm surprised you've read Trudi Canavan and not David Gemmells books ^^ David Gemmell even got some Award for greatest book this year thing ;o

He's done a lot of books, so you got some to read from him C:

Ah right, OT:

The Painted Man / The Warded Man - Peter V.Brett (depends if american or UK translation I think)
Up coming trilogy, Second book is out aswell, waiting for the third ;}

Well can't say if the recommendations suit your taste either, but I find 'em interesting :d

You read manga by any chance?Oo could rec some there aswell.

Yeah your gonna have a much harder chance of finding a manga that I would like and haven't read :P. Feel free to try though.

But I will definitely look in the Peter Brett books too, I'm writing up a list so I can look them up on the kindle later.

Author
Piers Anthony

Series Name
The Magic of Xanth
Incarnations of Immortality
The Apprentice Adept

Author
Michael Moorcock

Series Name
The Elric Saga
(also check out ANY of the eternal champion books by him, they are all interconnected and amazing novels)

Author
Fritz Lieber

Series Name
Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser (loosely interconnected series involving the two main characters, yet definitely an amazing series of books, classic sword and sorcery with a badass twist)
Also check out pretty much any standalone novel as well, amazing author, although the books are hard to come by since most are anywhere from 20-60 years old

Author
Fred Saberhagen

Series Name
The Book of Swords, The Book of Lost Swords (A very large fantasy series, with the exception of the very last few novels where a sci fi twist is introduced)
some standalone novels to read would be Merlins Bones, A Matter of Taste

These are only a VERY VERY small amount of good fantasy sci fi series novels I have been a HUGE sci fi and fantasy buff since I was a small child and an insane bookworm so if you need more suggestions just pm me (I currently have a collection of several thousand books, although most in storage, and close to 500gb of ebooks as well, I currently read roughly 1 novel per day)

Genres
Martial Arts
Fantasy
Some shounen
Virtually anything with a intricate storyline and no romance.
Not a fan of much ecchi anymore. Unless it's something like sunken rock.

Gangster Manga's are my absolute favorite.

As William Hazlitt says On The Pleasure of Hating: Don't you hate what you've already read? Then why keep them?
