I wasn't THAT big of a fan of Red Son, but I'm falling instantly in love with Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns. Holy shit, I'm excited to see how it turns out.

Well, when I recommended Red Son, I figured it would be a fast little read for you, since it's only 3 issues and I read it in one short sitting. I think it's a solid story. Now, The Dark Knight Returns has some depth. There are metaphors on top of metaphors in that story, that are just excellent. If you enjoy it when you finish, I suggest you check out the animated movies they made recently. Part 1 and Part 2, both do TDKR much justice.

TDKR has like a very gritty/crime-noir type of vibe.
Sometimes the art can be a little iffy (some pages don't have color, some like quickly free drawn), but it adds to the feel of the novel. I'm lovin it.

Yep. It's amazing. The story and the art definitely flow very well together. Year One is a lot like that as well. Very Noir. Obviously both being written by Miller, but with a different artist. How far along are you?

Some pimp is slappin his bitch in a cab. The pimp gives the driver some money, driver stops giving a fuck.
Batman pounces. Around 1/4 done based on the 200 page count.

One thing I also like is the constant news breaks they do where the reporter talks about the current climate/state of Gotham. It's a small subtle touch that makes Batman's world feel more immersive without trying too hard.

Yeah, exactly. Plus, this is a very radical story in the Batman Universe. Remember that this came out in 1986. Imagine how mind blowing this was to people back then? People's heads were literally exploding after reading this LOL. This was a story never told before, hell, never imagined before. Miller creates this sort of "10 years after Batman" world that is just incredibly gripping. I couldn't put it down the first time I read it. What's funny is, even to this day, TDKR is still more insane than anything out there. It holds up so well. I don't think it will ever be out done. But, I'll let you decide for yourself. It only gets better and better. It truly builds up this amazing story. /end nerdgasm

Well, what do you mean? They are both considered like some of the best Batman stories, hell best comics of all time. That Top 75 thing they just did, which was voted on by the community, had 'The Killing Joke as #3, TDKR as #2, and Year One as #1.

An Alan Moore and two Frank Millers lol. There is a reason they are who they are haha.

Edit: I personally think TDKR is #1 with Year One as my #2. And the votes were literally 5 votes off between them. Out of the tens of thousands that voted.

Oh yeah. I actually think I will enjoy Guardians more than The Avengers. And for the record I hated Iron Man 3 and actual enjoyed Iron Man 2, up until that pretty cheesy ending. Thor 2 was VERY "meh". And Cap 2 was "ok". A lot of people hyped it, but I thought it was just "ok". Had some good stuff, but just didn't really ever grab me.

Oh lawd, at least for me:
Cap 2 > The Avengers > Iron Man 2 > Thor 2 = Ironman 3 (Maybe slight edge to IM3).

I'd probably give ASM1 = The Avengers, and ASM2 = Thor 2 & IM3.
