If you get a popular ereader (nook, kindle) then you won't need to convert from pdf, as most read the file type already.

True, you got a point there. I might actually buy one ;o Seems really handy, but I love the feeling lying down in bed with an awesome book :D

I prefer regular books, of course. However, when I moved to another country and I was going to ship down 200+ books, my friend bought me a Nook (I was quite reluctant to eBooks at the time), now I'm actually quite fond it it, especially when traveling. It also has the benefit of being able to buy any book you want at any time.

I believe they can.
As long as they can read mp3 files, which most can.
I have an ereader app on my phone that has an option to read actual text to me, but it would be like a Microsoft Sam kinda voice, and really annoying.

But anyway, that's not what is meant by ereader, so no, not pretty pointless.
They're nice for people who like to read, you should try it (reading) some time.

just get audio books if you want someone to read the book for you. the TWOT for example is really good, love how the readers(female and male) change their voices and accent depending on whom they're impersonate :>

/w the point with an ereader is that you can have 100 books in 1 little thing, instead of carrying them around and gettin back pain (if you manage to lift them)

I use my phone.

I personally like using my phone instead of books. It's much easier to carry around several ebooks in your pocket than it is to carry a single real book xD

I don't think i can read a book with anything smaller than the galaxy note 2. even then i wouldnt be able to read more than 15 min or so before getting frustrated.

i just stick to audio books

That's what I've been doing lately.
I listen to books on the 90 minute drive whenever I go home and also when I'm walking to/from classes and eating.
It's awesome xD

/e On my phone lol
So great to have all this stuff on one device.

who is the TWOT you speak of? is this an inside joke? I hardly ever get audio books maybe 2 per year. The last one I got had good voice acting. It was Dream Story by Arthur Schnitzler.

I have a ordinary paper library and a collection of ebooks on my laptop. If my laptop can read to me it would seam a step down to get a ereader. idk i guess an ereader is more mobile but its less functional then a laptop though...

ATT Crystal voice is better than Sam but I use Neospeech Julie. It's the best one i've found so far.
here's like 6 different voices:

TWOT = The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan (and Brandon Sandersson is finishing it as Robert Jordan died). I listened to them and they're really good the ones who've done them. Pretty famous book aswell iirc?
