Only one? Lol.

I absolutely love my 5dII. And I was only able to get one lens, the 50mm 1.8. Generally people cant believe thats the only lens I use, for such a cheap price its amazing.

Id certainly be happy with the 1.4.

Also Id pretty much listen to anything lithfkn has to say xD Unless you arent planning on going professional at all.

Thanks lovey, you can really feel how superior a full frame sensor really is, going back is just compromising!

I'm strictly talking shooting for money, anything else i don't think it really matters. If you are going to take people's money for your pictures you want everything possible at your disposal!

Yup, I still get giddy over it, haha. I definitely cant wait to get another lens, sometimes I do feel like a bit of a bum with just one little lens, lol.

Speaking of which, (and sorry to hijack your thread op, but lith is already in here xD) Im still a bit undecided as to which lens I should get. My main thing is portraits, especially children and babies.

Ive been looking at the 70-200 2.8 or f4 L IS, 100mm macro, and the 17-55 2.8. Ive also heard a lot about the 85mm, but Im iffy about that one. Also, for this caliber of glass how do you feel about third party?

E: Oh and the 24-70L, but Im iffy about that one also.

Hmmm well, if you are on a budget the 85 1.8 is a fantastic lens. Fast and sharp. I have one and it has never let me down. I see no reason to go the 1.2

The 70-200 F4 IS from what I have found is strictly a studio lens. F4 is slow and ugly. It's ridiculously sharp at f8 in the studio...

Can't say much about the 100mm macro yet, it will be my next lens for beauty because I hear it's so damn sharp.

If snapping natural light portraits is your thing, you want fast primes IMO.

Yes, I am all about natural light. Ive tried using my external flash and I just cant make heads or tails of that thing. Plus it just looks so damn fake.

I wont really be on a budget, tax time :D. But thats pretty cool that its relatively cheap, could free me up to look into other gear. Any other prime suggestions? I dont think Ill ever go to the 1.4 or 1.2 for my 50mm, Im very happy with the 1.8. 2.8 seems to be the sweet spot and thats really not that bad imo.

Also, can you maybe send me a couple of shots youve taken with your 85mm? Preferably natural light shots, if you have them. I know you do a lot of kick ass studio stuff xD

Speedlites are great to start off with, good way to learn how to create light, especially when you play with DIY modifiers! I did a fashion shoot last week where I use a crumpled up diffuser on a speedlite and a crumpled up white cardigan from the model haha I didn't use my flash kit because it's still in the process of getting shipped over to me :(

I had some issues with my previous 50 1.2. It was constantly missing focus and wasn't quite there wide open so I sent it to Canon a few times for calibration. I ended up selling it and bought a 50 1.4. Then this was giving me issues so I took it back to where I bought it and tried 6 different versions until I was happy.

Would you like me to PM them to you?
