i want to say that you really need to do research before you make a your purchase... judging by the questions you have given so far shows that you are still unprepared imo. i promise you making a purchase will be much easier if you do your research and not ask for opinions on what to buy when you should ask for their opinion on which camera is better in terms of performance. a five hour review comparison is just isn't enough

since you mentioned skate/snowboarding i wouldn't recommend you the D5100. the D7000 definitely offers more and fits to your criteria in terms of sports and your budget. if you are in a tight budget go with the D5100.

I agree. Definitely what I would've gotten had my budget allowed it at the time.

3k budget?

5dII + 50 1.4 or d600 + 50 1.4

You have a decent starting budget.. and you want to get paid work. Don't waste money on a crop camera. You will only regret it later.

.... only one lens >_< flexibility es everything... rather spend more on lenses - the d7000 is a great camera....

I'd take a full frame camera with a 50mm prime over a 1/2 frame sensor camera and garbage kit lens any day of the week. Especially if you are shooting with the intent of taking people's money.

d7000 is great.. at an amateur level.

Edit: d600 is ~$2k and a 24-70 2.8 is ~$1600

Worth saving that little bit extra and doing it properly

Only one? Lol.

I absolutely love my 5dII. And I was only able to get one lens, the 50mm 1.8. Generally people cant believe thats the only lens I use, for such a cheap price its amazing.

Id certainly be happy with the 1.4.

Also Id pretty much listen to anything lithfkn has to say xD Unless you arent planning on going professional at all.
