Lol @ your topic title, I feel the same way every time I post a pic of a kid.

Lovely photos, you captured a lot of detail in that snow.

Ah! Someone who understands! haha!
It is hard for me to take pictures or whatever, just to take pictures.... if I feel forced to click that shutter, it will reflect in my photography.... I must be 'inspired' ..
I am not always inspired by horses either.... most disciplines (dressage, jumping, barrels) get me all happy, but reining I just can't stand it and not appealed to do photos of...
I dislike city life, architecture, cars, most people  and I don't own a macro lens not a wide angle.
I don't know really how to use a flash and have no clue about studio lighting.
But I love shooting horses in general, I love horses and I think it shows in my photography...
Well, I must do something right, because I get work from it while some people will charge 1/5 of what I charge....

But photography now is more than just taking pictures...
To get a product that people will like and be willing to pay for, I post process the photos with LR now (finally lol) and Photoshop (mostly for the clone tool and adding my logo)

Also I used to hate working the black and white, but now with Silver Effex Pro (with LR) I just LOVE it!!!!
I'll try to find some I did with it...

I will buy this lens!  Just a matter of time. It's also tempting to ... trade someone for it... my zoom for it.  but I'd only want to do that to someone I trust... mine's barely used O_O

I know  It is a very expensive lens but it will change the way you feel about clicking that shutter button!
But you may want to just save for it and keep your 70-200... I just bought the 70-200 II 2.8 in OK (much cheaper than Canada) and now I feel complete....
I am also lucky I won a local photo contest with 'harvesting' as the theme, and got 500 $ that must be spent towards photo equipment... so I have to go next week with my receipt for the 70-200 and I'll get 500 $
Seriously.... I know it's far and not cheap.. but come visit, we will go everywhere with our cameras and it's going to be super fun!!!!

Beautiful pictures. You made that horse look so gorgeous, and the snow falling made it all magical.

Great shots! =-]

Thank you! Snow can be a nightmare for some, but it looks so good on pictures!
But it can be tricky at times when the flakes are big enough to come in front of your focus point and change it all.... but that is what digital photography is good for, you can take as many photos as you want and it's not more expensive!

love the last 2
but think the 2nd last might look better if you didnt cut part of the horse off

24-70 is prob the most used and most versatile lens, although my fav is my 70-200 even though its not used near as much

Thank you!
I don't remember why I had to crop the lower part of the horse, there was something that couldn't be there.... but I agree with you it would have been better if the horse was complete..

Same here, except for snapshots of my kids. And even then I hesitate to post those because Im afraid people will be like, shes a photographer, shouldnt this picture be better? Lol.

Now that Im different on, I love city life. Id probably take a lot more random photos if I lived in a city. I only have one lens

Omg I have a flash that just collects dust, haha. Ive tried to use it like twice and I just gave up. Natural light is just so much easier, and prettier.

Yeah it really makes a difference if you love what you shoot. Thats why I wont do weddings, I just know I wont get the best shots because Ill be blah about it.

I seriously have downloaded LR 4 or 5 times just to uninstall it like 5 minutes later. I cant get the hang of it, haha. But I hate change, and Im super stuck on PS. People always say LR is so much easier for photographers, wish I knew how to work it.

I had someone explain to me how to use LR... or the basics of it... and I reallllllly love it!
I now shoot in RAW, import all in LR, make some minor adjustments and frame the photo, then I export in jpg to do whatever with it!
But not knowing where to go in LR is like walking at night in a haunted forest haha!!

Photos taken at a Dressage Horse Show, the rider asked me last week to get a dvd of all the photos of the 3 days of the show, to give the owner of the horse a present for her birthday...
The horse is a Haflinger, and they all come in that color which makes it so easy to make photos of!!

You are right. It's probably just a better idea to keep my 70-200. I don't think I'd get rid of it. I do really love that lens, haha. Just can only use it specifically.

Marie, I will come visit! I swear. It's just a matter of time. I will finish school first, :)

Keep on takin' those pictures! They're great, and you're definitely getting much better!
