13 just got redundant towards the end, some of the marks were fun but it's like "do I really want to do 100 more of these stupid marks?" 13-2 was a shocker that you only played Serah and Noel, but like you said the whole Pokemon/monster hunter aspect was really cool to me.

13-3 is past whispers at this point; with all of the unanswered questions with 13-2 (even if you took the time to unlock the complete, "secret" ending) it's a necessary installment and I think it should be the last of that saga. We get to play Lightning again but from what I've seen we ONLY play Lightning, I don't know, here's the trailer.

Really sad they dropped the ball on this series. I actually had the same conversation with my brother recently....I hope they continue to make non-mmo, turn based rpg's.

Should I get a copy of the Lost Odyssey? I've read that the story is better than FF13, but the graphics and gameplay are worse....and on a personal note I like the sifi almost futuristic setting that 13 offered.

What do you mean? Didn't you just say you liked it? I never got too far into Lost Odyssey, not far enough to recall anything six years later that's for sure. I know the battle system's turn based, that's about it. I like futuristic environments as well, had a great time with the Mass Effect series and Xenogears for the PS1 is one of my favorite games of all time.

I Loved FF13....but 13-2 was lackluster at best. When I said I'm sad that they dropped the ball i was referring to 13-2. I absolutely love the battle system where you spec a character to a role and play them out that way. What I dislike is the total lack of playable characters.....Having the monsters made up for it to a degree, but without a storyline attached to them they're sort of just support.

Yeah I see what you mean. One of the things that sort of made up for the lack of cast members was a few of them were introduced into the DLC content; for example my main Ravager role is filled by Lightning (I paid like 2.99 for her which is gay but whatever). I believe there's Sazh and a few others as well, it's been a while since I've played since all I really had left to do was complete the Monster Hunter quest. Will be interesting how they handle Lightning Returns. The trailer made it look like she was all on her own in a post-apocalyptic environment.

I've never played the DLC, probably wont. Although talking about this makes me want to delete my old save files and start it back up.....

As far as Lightning Returns, They're getting further and further away from what I (and you) love most about the game by completely getting rid of the collinear stories, and now all but 1 protagonist. I would like to see another console single player installment (probably FF XV) similar to 13, with more characters, but following the same broken story that comes together in the end.

9> 7 IMO. Most people just bust a nut at the mention of 7, but when you look at the cgi cut scenes they're like 5 years ahead of their time, and the gameplay/story were both awesome.

7 is overrated, mediocre video gaming at its finest. Replaying it at 22 years old allowed me to really see it with an objective eye rather than relying on community hype or my recollection of the game 10 years ago. 9 is incredible and, I hate to say it, but just might be making its way to a higher rank than 8 in my mind.

Ya know...I never played 8....The fanfare for it is enormous and somehow I've just missed it. I can probably get a copy for like $5

I might just chalk that up to a no-go and give 13 another spin......or 12
