Reina Commits to Reds.

Pepe Reina says his future is with Liverpool.
When Fernando Torres left Anfield in January, Reina was also linked with a transfer away from Anfield. However, with Kenny Dalglish ready to make the club a serious title contender again, the keeper has signalled his intention to remain a Red.
"I'm happy, calm and comfortable here," Reina told the Liverpool Echo.

"I will continue working so we can win more games.

"I'm looking towards the future which I reckon will bring a lot of happiness and hopefully the new project with the new American owners will be a convincing one – attractive and ambitious above all. It's my understanding that we will be bringing in some important players, continuing to grow and hopefully in one or two years we will be in the place that Liverpool deserves to be, which is fighting for titles.

"Benitez is the person who brought me here, but this does not mean that I am uncomfortable with Dalglish".

"On the contrary, I think he is the ideal manager for Liverpool at the moment.

"The team is playing better and better, and we will see if we can keep this level in the matches we have left so we can earn that fifth position in order to play in Europe next year."

Reina also dismissed stories linking him with Manchester United.
"I am not going to Manchester, that is not my intention," he added.
"I imagine they've been monitoring and following many keepers."

As long as he doesn't end up taking the same path as Torres, this is great news for the club.

Easily one of the best keepers in the world, and exactly the kind of personality, character and ability to be wearing a Reds shirt through and through.

Happy days for the Reds!

Today's Gossip:- Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has a transfer shortlist including Bolton defender Gary Cahill, Everton left-back Leighton Baines and Aston Villa wingers Stewart Downing and Ashley Young after being told he has a £50m budget for next season.

- Dalglish is planning "up to 22 deals" in and out of the club this summer as he looks to revamp his squad. Rennes winger Sylvain Marveaux is expected to be the first of many young arrivals, identified as talent that can be developed, when the transfer window reopens in June.

- Bayern Munich will join Liverpool in attempting to prise full-back Jose Enrique away from Newcastle in the close-season.
Some interesting rumours.

Enrique has done really well at Newcastle and could help our left back position.

As for our wings, I've been an admirer of Ashley Young for a while and would be a good investment. Baines is a great player too however unlikely that Everton would sell to us.

Downing is a decent player but not our standard and don't know anything really about Marveaux

Thoughts?

I have always been hoping alot for Young to come to LFC so i think that would be awesome, Baines is probably the best LB we can get atm and he is defintly one of the better in PL and as we need a replacement there it would be awesome.
I dont know about Cahill, as far as i know he is pretty decent but ill rather get someone like Hangeland i guess.
Downing shouldnt move to LFC, we dont need more average players imho

Everton selling Baines to us is as logical as Barca selling Messi to madrid

Jamie Carragher is set for another Liverpool milestone on Sunday.

Should he play against Newcastle, Carragher will make his 665th game for the Reds, putting him joint second in the all time appearance record, level with Emlyn Hughes and Ray Clemence.

"Carra has been a fantastic servant to this football club. I don't know how far short he is from Cally's record - I think he's got a wee while to go before he reaches that, but he's been great," said Kenny Dalglish.

"He's filled in loyally and comfortably in many positions for the football club and he's someone who has been very pleased to be associated with Liverpool - and we're pleased to be associated with him.

"He's been a real compliment to this football club.

"Talent is a good starting point, starting in the first team at 18 is another good starting point and not picking up too many injuries helps, but the most important thing is his ability and his desire and commitment to this football club.

"His record speaks for itself."

Didn't realise it but after looking at the table. If chelsea do us a favour and beat them, we beat newcastle then spurs.. 5th spot!

Either way we will blow it and loose to newcastle and spurs will pull a draw

Wishful thinking though!

If the impossible did happen, any chance of city loosing 2 and drawing 1 maybe :D with 1 game to go :P

Won't happen. Unless city loose 3 games and draw 1 i think with 6 left. Its possible, but we would have to win every game as well :P Will take 5th spot if we can get it!
