MTX are what started the decline of Destiny. The entirety of D2 was setup to sell them. E.g. no random rolls on anything and tons of reskins, but all the unique armors being Eververse. I said the same as you in D1, then had a problem when it was armors and ghosts popping up in RNG boxes for $. Nobody cared because they were having fun with the game. So I'd bet good money that we'll go down this road again with MTX decisions hurting the overall game.



D2 launched with a single armor set being associated with Eververse....

A single set per class.

Dead Orbit was a reskin of EDZ. Crucible was a reskin of legendary engram set. Prestige was a reskin of normal raid. NM was a reskin of another legendary set. Even Iron Banner weapons were reskins.

How many sets have to just be reskins before the point is made? They made armor cosmetic and then reused models over and over while Eververse stayed unique.

Are these just cosmetics? Or do they improve your character? If you can't pay to increase your level/power I don't understand why you would be upset

Because the gear available via the treadmill is all the same reskins, and the only unique gear is paywalled?

Technically 2 but the first one, curse of osiris, was a big letdown and isn't required to play warmind if you wanted to skip it.

They stripped the ability to improve and customize your character down to barebones so that armors are now cosmetic. So when the MTX sets present one of the only unique ones in game, it feels like it was done to boost those sales.

Just two. I skipped the previous one and jumped into the current with no issues. Took somewhere around 3-4 hours to hit the current soft cap.

Ya, that's pretty fucking weak. I get why you guys are complaining now. I'd just see it as a way to single out people who have that shit and call them gay, but I've never cared all that much about cosmetic shit in any game. Only time I think I ever say something cosmetic that made me actually jealous was the flaming helmet for Bungie employees from Halo 3. That shit was dope as fuck.

Prestige raid gear didn’t exist prior to Taken King and was only a reskin then as well. I’m not a fan of Eververse either but people need to stop changing the narrative and resorting to hyperbole to complain about Eververse.

is the first one just for story line shit or will i actually miss out on levels/weapons?
