i'd throw American Me in that category too. if you haven't seen it, watch it, good ass 90's movie that falls into the same category as boyz in the hood/menace II society.

I always thought Menace II Society was better than Boyz in the hood, it's just realer to me. Maybe because I watched it like 100 times between the ages of 5-12
