fair or not, this is the first time in Embiids career where the media is squarely on him. before it was Ben, Tobias, Doc, or Harden. now it is complete focus on him
I think Morey and Nurse have their share of blame too but it's been long due that Embiid gets held to the fire
Media has always been critical of Embiid. He gets as much or more hate than anyone in the league. He embraces the villain role, and being Philly people are naturally gonna hate.
Either way, this start isn't all on him. He has only played in 3 games and has been on a minutes restriction. 3 games with a very new roster isn't easy. It's not easy for Nurse either. This many new pieces (Paul George, McCain, Martin, Drummond, Yabusele, Bona, Jackson, Dowtin) all while missing Maxey, the only player he does have chemistry with, for a bunch of these games isn't exactly easy to just suddenly gel. It's going to take a while before they hit their stride.
Again...we're only 15% of the way into the season. Panic button isn't being pressed...yet. gotta at least give it half a season. If we are 40+ games in and they're still struggling this badly then we can start talking changes. This roster is entirely way too talented to remain this bad.
