What’s the point in being points per minute leader or whatever, if you’ve spent half your career injured or resting and not being out there actually scoring for your team?

Total > average imo!

The NBA scoring title is based off points per game, not total points.

Nobody cares about total points. It's all about what you do per game.

What I’m saying is, the stigma around scoring needs to change, because total points > average points… no point averaging a heap of points if ya can’t get on the court (not saying that’s embiid this season btw)

Meh, total points is good as it shows durability and that's fine if a guy can play most or all of the season. But what you do in each game means more, obviously.

You have to play a minimum number of games to qualify for the scoring title anyway. It's not like a guy can play 20 games and average 50 PPG and win the scoring title. Right now for example, KD doesn't qualify in the scoring leaders list. He's averaging 29.3 PPG which would put him at #3 behind Embiid and Giannis though, if he played enough games.
