Hey folks, I find out that in my MSI laptop I have Kingston ssd drive which is not demon of speed, uncle google says that the speed of read and copy are between 1200/600. I’m looking for Samsung 980 to buy where both of speeds are around 3000 and my question is… is this upgrade will much help with gaming performance? Quicker loading screens etc? Or it’s just waste of money for something that I will not even feel?

Thanks in advance

So no different at all? Even if I use two copy of d2r at same time, higher speed of ssd will not help me during a plying with loading screens from act to act?

i would not call your current ssd slow. if your machine supports the 980 then you could upgrade to it but I think it's at least fair to say that you're overestimating the actualized performance boost with your workloads. you need to figure out what the current throughput of D2R is on your storage to know the full picture. thats probably not your bottleneck.

you probably won't feel it much. it'd be marginally faster maybe, but i'm guessing the bottleneck isn't going to be your SSD.
if you play many open world games often, then it may be worth upgrading for the SIZE and speed benefits if your current ssd is small.

samsung 980 is also kinda overrated imo i'd just get something like a seagate firecuda or something for way cheaper and more storage

you can test your read/write threshhold yourself if you run 2 copies of d2r,
open task manager to the performance tab, create two new games at the same time, and see what read/write you are getting. if you're not hitting your advertised speeds uncle google told you you're supposed to be hitting, it's likely that you will see zero improvement.

loading game was actually around 400-500 mb each so if use two copies there's not really point to change anything, i got also hdd 1 tb disc for separate doc

thanks for save 60 euro

I respect your point, but I can't entirely agree with it. The computer is used not only for gaming purposes, so it's silly to load the main disk with games. Sometimes games can weigh 100 GB. If you load the main and fast disk of your PC, the whole system will suffer.
It is more efficient to install an additional hard drive with good characteristics if the game's loading time is an important parameter for you. The main thing is to be careful not to lose some of the data; otherwise, you will have to deal with HDD RECOVERY.
By the way, many gamers now do not even install games on physical media but use cloud servers.
