I am planning to build a computer late may after finals

I currently have a Corsair HX 1050W in my current pc which is pretty good imo
thinking of getting another HX 1050 or a Corsair AX1200


not sure if I need that extra power for all the fans i'll be using


Here is my planned build
Case: Cool Master Cosmos 2 picking up this friday from frys Theres a 40$ rebate been wanting this for awhile
Case has 200mm and 120mm fan in front
Cpu: i7 2600k
GPU: Single Card gtx 680 hydro copper will have $ for a 2nd one if i can find someone to buy my cello on craigslist
Mobo: undecided prob something b/t 250-300$
Ram: 4x4Gb Corsair Vengeance

Top 1x 360mm Rad /w 6x 120mm fans push pull config too case
Front Bottom 2x 240mm Rad /w 4x 120mm fans
Rear 1x 140mm Rad /w 1x 140mm fans

Going DD-RAD-Reservoir Cylinder shaped one
could use some suggestions on Pump and radiator brands

you only need like a 650 watt unless you want to sli in the future, even then its like 750-850 all you need

This...if you're just looking for quality above all then get the Seasonic Platinum 860w...pretty much the best Psu on the planet, and will handle that build + another 680 with ease...

The other two posters are pretty much spot on, but make sure you buy a PSU with the 80+ bronze certification! Makes sure that you'll get all the wattage and quality they advertised.

Or 80+ Silver even...

I'd much rather have a 750-800W 80+ Silver than a 1k~ anything but 80+ silver cause 1k is just over kill in -most- scenarios, although two 680s -might- need 800-850w (I think they're rated at 200w each? so Idk)

I'd get what u originally planned bro...


When building a comp...any comp...the 3 MOST important parts are these:

1. Case...whether you are air cooling or water cooling get a case with room for growth, great cooling, and case exterior connectors where you are going to want them.
2. Power Supply ...this runs the show...get a PSU that will easily drive w/e you have in comp or MAY decide to add to comp. Consider wattage AND amperage.
3. Motherboard ...EVERYthing ur comp does, it does on or thru the motherboard circuits...you skimp here, you WILL regret it, down the road, or from day one.

Why the hell would you tell him to get a 1050w or a 1200w psu when no matter what he's using, he'll probably never break 700w ever? You're an ass for giving advice like that...I know you ride that corsair dick, but you could at least have recommended one of their over priced 750-850w models instead...you shouldn't be allowed to post here any more

picked up the HX850 today at frys along with the cosmos 2 case

thing is was freaking huge couldn't fit my trunk so i had to squeeze it in back seat


I could still use some Radiator suggestions before ordering em
noticed some where "thicker" than others
would thicker be better than slimmer ones?
